Military moving checklist

Military moving checklist : D-3 months
- Make a list of all the documents relating to the move and put them in a file.
- Make an initial sort of your belongings to determine what you want to take with you
- Think about changing your children’s school or finding childcare solutions for young children.
- Calculate your entitlements on SimuCR or PFMD Muter Loger
- Request a quote from PFMD Muter Loger
- Open your rights on the Démarches Simplifiées website
- Block one or more days’ leave to move with peace of mind
- If you have a pet, think about transporting it now
Military moving checklist: D-2 months
- Notify your doctor of your departure
- Inform the administration of your future change of address
- Cancel your various subscriptions if necessary
Military moving checklist: 1 month to go
- Start packing your belongings
- Transfer your various contracts (internet, electricity, gas, etc.) and choose your new suppliers. PFMD Muter Loger can help you with all these steps.

- Fixez un rendez-vous pour vos états des lieux d’entrée et de sortie
- Assurez votre nouveau logement
- Prévoyez le transfert de votre courrier : contactez La Poste pour mettre en place une réexpédition de courrier temporaire pour une durée de 6 ou 12 mois à partir de la date souhaitée (le délai est de 2 jours ouvrés minimum)
- Commencez à imaginer la disposition de vos meubles dans votre nouveau logement pour faciliter le déchargement
Military moving checklist : D-7 days
- Ask for all the keys to your new home
- Prepare a bag for essentials and useful items
- Prepare a folder with important documents (identity card, passport, family record book, health book, driving license, etc.).
- Remember to change your pet’s address via Icad
- Prepare empty boxes to be filled at the last minute for items that cannot be packed before the big day.
Military moving checklist : D-1 day
- Unplug all electrical appliances
- Defrost your freezer and drain your washing machine and dishwasher
- Pack all your jewelry in a dedicated bag
- Go through every corner of your home to make sure you haven’t forgotten anything, then remove all items attached to floors, walls and ceilings.
- Remember to recharge your phone for the big day
Military moving checklist : D-Day
- Take your pre-prepared folder containing your most important papers
- Read the meters (electricity, water and gas) and take photos, then turn off the water and electricity supplies.
- Close doors and windows
- Take with you any belongings you don’t want to or can’t entrust to someone else (jewelry, small personal items, etc.), or protect them as much as possible (e.g. crockery) with bubble wrap, newspaper or linen to cushion the impact.
- Remove the nameplate from your mailbox and door.
- Check and inspect the condition of your furniture and packaging, then give your specific instructions to the movers.
- Sign all specific moving documents (waybills, etc.)
The military move checklist : the days that follow
- If you notice any damage, report it as soon as possible to Muter Loger and follow the compulsory procedure provided.
- Finalize your administrative formalities
- Register on the electoral roll of your new place of residence (before December 31 of the current year)
- Choose your new doctor
- Update your vehicle registration document (within 30 days)
