Moving to another region
Moving to another region More and more French people are moving to another region. Moving to another region requires advance preparation: here’s our advice.
Discover your new region
First and foremost, think “life project”: we recommend that you take the time to visit your new region before settling in. A change of life must be anticipated to be fully successful. Don’t forget to take several factors into account:
- Climate
- School and leisure facilities
- Cost of living
- The job market
Prepare for your move
Do not hesitate to ask for quotes as soon as possible: we recommend you take ideally 3 months in advance to optimize the costs. In addition, financial aid is available:
- If you are transferred or proposed for employment, you are entitled to assistance from your future employer and exceptional leave; if you are eligible, you can also benefit from the Loca-Pass® or Mobili-Pass®. To find out more about these aids contact us. In the subject of contact fill in “housing search”.
- If you are a job seeker, Pôle Emploi offers mobility assistance. You can also apply to the Housing Solidarity Fund with the General Council of your region, or to the CAF if you are in a difficult personal situation.
