What to keep while moving ?
When you are moving, all your boxes are ready. But have you thought about what to keep ready for the day ?
“What to keep”: The most important elements
Prepare a file with your documents such as your ID card, passport, health record, driver’s license and everything you consider important, because you may need them at any time. In this folder, add a pocket where you will find all your keys (housing, car etc.), your means of payment and your medication treatments if necessary.
“What to keep”: Your basic needs
On this long and intense day that a move represents, you will have to get strong and hydrate. Prepare a box of snacks (sandwiches, cakes etc.) and drinks (water, coffee etc.) to keep you fit throughout the day. Also consider using cups, cutlery and cardboard plates to make sure you don’t miss anything.
“What to keep”: First aid and toiletries kit
Consider bringing a first aid kit with disinfectant spray, bandages, scissors, strips or paracetamol. This will allow you to anticipate the potential injuries related to the carrying of the boxes and the assembly and dismantling of your furniture. Also have at your disposal tissues, toilet paper, soap and everything necessary to have a minimum of comfort when you change your place of life.
“What to keep”: Cleaning and DIY kit
We advise you to keep cleaning products (mop, paper towel, garbage bags etc.) available on D-day. You will move furniture, put boxes and you will probably notice dirt or dust. This kit will be useful and practical to do cleaning during your move. A small tool box will also be welcome, because you will always find something to do on site even if you call on a company of professional movers.
OUR ADVICE
Put all these essential elements in a distinctive cardboard to find you easily and quickly on the day.
